This groundbreaking joint degree program, a collaboration between King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) and Bangkok University (BU), is designed to meet the demands of the ever-changing and evolving digital world of the 21st century.
Utilizing the STEMEC model—fusing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics with Entrepreneurial spirit and Creativity—this comprehensive 4-year-program curriculum merges and integrates technical artificial intelligence and engineering with business and entrepreneurial skills to prepare students to lead and innovate in both tech and business landscape. The aim of this approach is to equip students to not only understand the advanced technological world, but to also create viable, creative business models that leverage them, with 3 distinct tracks for students to pursue:
- Food and Biotechnology Industry
- Digital and IoT Industry
- Electric Vehicle and Logistics Industry
Students of this program spend the first two years at KMITL mastering and honing their engineering and artificial intelligence skills and foundations, with courses taught by professors who excel at both engineering and artificial intelligence fields. The final two years are spent at the Bangkok University’s School of Entrepreneurship and Management (BUSEM), focusing on sharpening the entrepreneurial skills, leadership, and practical business incubation. Beyond theory, students are to develop a product, a software, an innovation based on the acquired knowledge into real business, with the guidance of experts from both KMITL and BU to kick-start and realize the project into a full-fledged business.
Furthermore, the program offers academic collaborations with Top 50 worldwide universities, including the University of Surrey, Temasek Polytechnic, and Babson College. Students can gain international experience through study abroad, overseas internships, or cooperative education with either domestic or international companies of choice.
